Concentration week 5

This week I was practicing poses and locations for my niece's senior photos that I was going to do in about a month. I used my usual models, my sister in law and sister!  My sister was a great sport for me and even though she doesn't like the way she looks with braces, she still smiled for me. I think her smile is beautiful, even with braces!

Trying to capture a little solar flare, not too bad for a newbie like myself!

Check out her beautiful smile!!!

A little too much shadow on her face. Can't wait to get my flash!

Photo Assignment #4-Art in Nature

Mr. Gross wanted us to take a picture of a tree/cactus etc that looked like something other than it is. That same weekend I was taking pictures for a picture book I had to make for my Children's literature class. So I got a lot of pictures of saguaro cacti. Not my favorite subject to photograph but I did learn a few things!
I thought this guy looked like a grinning cyclops!

And this guy looks like someone praying

Concentration Week 4

This is the week that I did my 1940's photoshoot. I had the help of my brother and his wife (and his awesome truck!) and sister and her husband (they were my lovely models!), and a few people who lent us some clothes and accessories. We went to an old boarded up hotel in downtown Phoenix and we had SO. MUCH. FUN! Here's some of my favorites!
Two men hanging out downtown

Two women come along looking for romance...and they get it!

I love feet shots!

The men celebrate their victory of getting the girls

My SIL reminded me of Marilyn Monroe in this picture!

My brother looks just like my late grandfather in this picture

Photo assignment #3-Portraits with a prop

I used my brother in law and sister in law for these pictures. I found, while doing these shots, that portraits are a little awkward. That's something I need to work on. It was fun though, and I got some good shots.
A face only my sister could love. :)
